Earlier this evening, the St. John’s Board of announced the eight winners of the 2022 Business Resilience Awards at a gala award show at the Delta St. John’s, proudly presented by RBC.

Every year the St. John’s Board of Trade celebrates the best of the business community—it is an opportunity to share the stories of the incredible things businesses throughout our community are doing to serve their customers; to think creatively and push boundaries; and to create cultures and workplaces where employees can thrive.

This year, we recognized resilience in eight categories:

2022 Opportunity Seeker: Piatto Pizzeria + Enoteca
2022 Community Champion (20+ employees):     Deloitte
2022 Community Champion (1-19 employees): Newfoundland Growlers
2022 Service Star: Catalyst Health Solutions
2022 Business Builder: Fort Amherst Healthcare
2022 Boundary Pusher: Port of Argentia
2022 Culture Creator: CoLab Software
2022 Business Resilience Award: Studio VERSŌ

29 businesses submitted 47 nominations for the 2022 awards show and, in true Board of Trade style, they represented businesses of all sizes and sectors.

“I am in awe of our members and the things they are doing to continually forge ahead with creativity, ingenuity and resilience,” said AnnMarie Boudreau, CEO, St. John’s Board of Trade. “The stories that we heard at this year’s gala are truly heartwarming, it is so clear to see that we, as a community, are focused on caring for each other, our employees and our province—it's just incredible.”

This year, the St. John’s Board of Trade introduced a new award category – Culture Creator. The category saw the highest number of nominees, proving it is an essential and timely topic in the celebration of excellence in business.

“The Resilience Awards recognize the ways our members have evolved and adapted to deal with the ever-changing circumstances they face,” said Norm Dimmell, Chair, St. John’s Board of Trade. “Our members are meeting adversity with big ideas, imagination, and vigor, and our province is benefiting from their tenacity and effort.”
