St. John’s Board of Trade Launching the Stallmark Greeting Card Collection to Remind Consumers to Shop at Home
Getting ‘Dieppe’d’ is bad enough. But there’s nothing worse than when there’s a special occasion and your gift is stuck in the mail. The St. John’s Board of Trade is launching a collection of greeting cards, so you’ll never have to show up empty handed again.
The Stallmark Collection is a line of greeting cards, designed by local artists. The cards feature fun local insights and illustrations, and each one includes a reminder to the gift giver that they should have bought from a local business.
“We’re introducing the Stallmark card collection as an extension of the Don’t Get Dieppe’d campaign that we launched last year,” said AnnMarie Boudreau, CEO, St. John’s Board of Trade. “Don’t Get Dieppe’d has provided us with a fun, light-hearted, and effective way to talk about why we should buy from businesses here at home. Local businesses big and small are the backbone of our economy, and we encourage everyone to recognize their immense value – both to our economy and our shopping experiences.”
There are cards for every occasion, from birthdays to anniversaries and everything in between. The cards are available for purchase through the St. John’s Board of Trade or, while quantities last, free at Hallmark St. John’s on Stavanger Drive. Sharable digital copies are also available for free online at DontGetDiepped.ca.
“We’re excited to partner with the St. John’s Board of Trade on this fun project,” said Margaret Butt, Owner, Hallmark St. John’s. “There are so many reasons why shopping local is more convenient – from the expert advice of the staff to seeing the product in-person to validate its quality. As a business owner, I can assure you that every local purchase matters.”
The initiative is the latest in the award-winning Don’t Get Dieppe’d campaign, which has earned recognition across the country.

About the St. John’s Board of Trade:
The St. John’s Board of Trade is Newfoundland and Labrador’s business advocate. We are a community of more than 700 members, combining the collective power of industries, sectors, and diverse perspectives. Together, we are developing a thriving business community.
About Dieppe, New Brunswick:
The City of Dieppe is a warm and inviting community which aspires to quality of life for all its residents. It also happens to be the location of a large Canada Post processing centre that is the final mainland scan point for packages before heading to Newfoundland. Although packages show as being in Dieppe, they could be any number of places between here and there. For a wonderful recap of how it all works go to www.stjohnsbot.ca/about-us/dont-get-diepped.
