Position Overview

YYT Hospitality Group is seeking an organized, hospitality-driven Events & Catering Sales Coordinator to manage event inquiries and support sales for our collection of iconic Newfoundland hospitality venues. This role is responsible for responding to incoming event requests, preparing customized quotes and proposals, and converting inquiries into confirmed bookings for weddings, corporate events, and social functions. The ideal candidate has experience in hospitality or events, strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment managing multiple venues and clients.


Key Responsibilities

Event Sales & Client Communication

  •  Respond to incoming email, phone, and website inquiries for catering and events
  • Prepare custom proposals, quotes, and menus for weddings, corporate events, tourism groups, and private functions
  • Attend Wedding Shows & other Sales driven events
  • Conduct site tours and consultations with prospective clients
  • Follow up on leads to convert inquiries into confirmed bookings
  •  Maintain excellent relationships with clients throughout the planning process

Event Coordination & Administration

  •  Maintain and update event calendars and booking systems
  •  Prepare contracts, invoices, and deposit requests
  • Coordinate event details with chefs, managers, and operations teams
  • rack event details including guest counts, menus, room setup, and timelines
  • Ensure all event details are clearly communicated internally

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Support sales initiatives across all venues
  •  Assist with corporate sales outreach and tourism partnerships
  • Identify upselling opportunities (food, beverage, experiences)
  • Maintain client database and sales pipeline

Multi-Venue Coordination

  • Work across several unique venues including:
  •  YellowBelly Brewery & Public House
  • O’Reilly’s Irish Newfoundland Pub / One Eared Goat
  • Historic Harbour Grace - The Old Courthouse & The Cathedral

Qualifications

Required

  •  Hospitality or restaurant industry experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  •  Ability to manage multiple clients and events simultaneously
  • Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and booking systems

Preferred

  • Event planning or catering sales experience
  • Sales or hospitality marketing background
  • Experience with CRM or event software
  • Knowledge of Newfoundland tourism and hospitality industry
