Recreation Programs Lead
Easter Seals NL is a charitable organization that has operated in this province since 1937 and is one of the many Easter Seals Canada jurisdictions.
Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to engaging, inspiring, and maximizing opportunities for people with disabilities of all ages by providing meaningful programs and services.
Approximately 100,000 people of all ages in our province live with disabilities
such as physical, sensory, cognitive, or other disabilities which present barriers to full participation in society.
It is our mission to tear down these barriers and build an inclusive Newfoundland and Labrador.
Recreation Program Lead
Easter Seals NL is looking for a part-time contractual Recreation Program Lead to join our team. This person will be responsible for frontline delivering recreation programs and, events for people of all ages with disabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Understanding of and experience with:
- Experience in frontline delivery and program leadership.
- Program facilitation and implementation.
- Administration tracking
- Experience working with people of all ages and people with disabilities.
Skills:
- Strong group facilitation and public speaking and group facilitation skills.
- Strengths in organization, time management, and efficiency.
- Ability to connect with participants, families, volunteers and coworkers.
Attributes:
- Ability to build professional relationships, with community members, co-workers, volunteers, families, and participants.
- Willingness to break out of our shells to and have lively engagement with the families and participants.
- Ability to communicate and work with groups and provide necessary instruction to program registrants, campers, and staff.
Background:
- Education or related experience in recreation program delivery or related field.
- Experience working with or caring for people with disabilities.
ASSETS:
- Experience working in the recreation programs in a leadership role.
- Experience in Program leadership
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the delivery of a variety of adapted recreational programs for adults and youth
- Maintain accurate and current records of program attendance and ensure program administration is up to date weekly.
- Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants and families for feel comfortable and enjoy our activities and space.
- Assist with building and equipment maintenance for program delivery and building operations.

Job Type: Part-time
Wage: $17.10
First Aid Certificates, Criminal Records, and Vulnerable Sector Checks will be included in the hiring process.
Own transportation and a valid driver’s license are asset.
