Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC), Canada’s leading support organization for young adults dealing with cancer is looking for someone who is organized, focused, and adaptable to join our growing office crew. Major Responsibilities
As a Fund Development Officer, you will play a key role in advancing our fundraising efforts, with a strong focus on event coordination and relationship management. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing and expanding our Shave for the Brave campaign, engaging with individuals, schools, and workplaces to build participation. You will also lead the growth of our third-party event program, supporting volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
Additionally, you will contribute to fundraising communications, including annual appeals, proposals, and donor outreach. You will support our Director of Development in major gift campaigns and provide administrative assistance to the fund development team as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Fund Development & Event Coordination
- Lead outreach efforts for Shave for the Brave, engaging individuals, schools, and businesses.
- Manage relationships with third-party event organizers, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure smooth execution of events and fundraising activities.
- Donor Communications & Appeals
- Write compelling stories and impactful messaging for appeals, proposals, and campaigns.
- Assist in major gift fundraising efforts and donor stewardship activities.
- Outreach & Relationship Building
- Identify and engage new supporters through outreach and cold calls.
- Strengthen relationships with current donors, volunteers, and partners.
- Technology & Administration
- Utilize donor management systems (DonorPerfect, Raisin) to track relationships and campaigns.
- Leverage AI and technology for improved fundraising and engagement.
- Conduct research to support donor cultivation and new fundraising initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written, with the ability to tell compelling stories.
- Fundraising experience, particularly with appeals and campaigns.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with a variety of stakeholders.
- Initiative and creativity in developing and executing fundraising ideas.
- Tech-savviness, including experience with DonorPerfect, Raisin, and AI tools.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
- Strong research skills to support donor outreach and campaign development.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required.
