We are currently looking for a Host for VOCM Open Line to join our NL Programming team!
VOCM Open Line is iconic in Newfoundland and Labrador, a place where voices are heard and issues are faced head on. Open Line is the voice of Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans, it’s our conversation. If you are a thought-provoking, conversational, and engaged individual with a real passion for this place, we want to hear from you!
- Host Newfoundland and Labrador’s iconic VOCM Open Line show
- Engage callers on current affairs, local issues, and breaking news
- Research topics, prep interviews, and shape daily show content
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and engaging on-air tone
- Collaborate with the VOCM newsroom and programming staff
- Represent VOCM in the community
- Others duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Strong presence on-air and off-air , and clear, confident communication
- Solid understanding of Newfoundland & Labrador issues and communities from St. John’s, Newfoundland to Nain, Labrador
- Ability to think quickly and manage live, unscripted conversations
- Journalism, broadcasting, or equivalent experience
- Comfort handling controversial topics with balance and professionalism
- Proven social media experience, including posting, monitoring, and audience engagement
- A fast, energized, team-oriented work environment
