Our Career Opportunity – IT Systems Support Specialist
As the Systems Support Specialist, you will lead efforts to optimize internal software, specifically focusing on maximizing the utilization of Microsoft Office365 and associated software. Collaborating with the Applied Epic Coordinator and external support services, you will ensure seamless and productive use of technology. Your responsibilities extend to providing support for network issues, managing hardware to meet current needs, and offering support in SQL or database inquiries, including the creation of dashboards and reports.
This role is dedicated to preserving the operational integrity of Wedgwood’s data and technology, overseeing system access, security, and continuity across diverse components such as hardware, software, agency management systems, internet and phone systems, physical security systems, and office technology. Additionally, the IT Systems Support Specialist will prioritize compliance with Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) legislation and resolve privacy-related issues promptly.
Salary range: $70,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience.
Systems and Technology Management:
- Oversee computer programs, systems, individual employee technology, internet/intranet services, phone systems, network software, web presence, and security systems.
- Resolve issues and errors associated with systems, including updates, ensuring integrity, security, reliability, and functionality.
- Conduct regular integrity and disaster recovery testing for all systems.
- Collaborate with support partners, including applied and outsourced service providers, to ensure system stability and performance.
Innovation and Process Improvement:
- Assist with any implementation of Application Programming Interface (API), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance client and employee experiences and boost productivity.
- Develop database inquiries / SQL for generating dashboards and analytics.
- Stay informed on IT best practices, regulatory requirements, as well as new products and programs.
Training and Support:
- Support training in computer program/system use and system security for staff.
- Respond to employee inquiries effectively.
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Privacy, Compliance, and Security:
- Manage privacy matters in compliance with Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
- Report data privacy issues to the management team as needed.
- Ensure accuracy and currency of the PIPEDA and CASL knowledge base and facilitate employee training.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personal knowledge of PIPEDA and CASL.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science/Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and .
- in computer support and network administration, with a strong knowledge of common business software applications and networking technology.
- Demonstrated experience with group policy, network administration, and patch management tools.
- Microsoft Certified training, SQL/database management experience, and industry certifications related to network and security are assets.
- Deep knowledge of Office365 Suite and ability to train staff in advanced usage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact with business users at all levels and deliver excellent customer service

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations and procedures.

Working Conditions & Environment
- Working hours are 8:30 am – 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch.
- and may go beyond regular office hours to meet deadlines and address urgent matters.
- While the position requires extended periods of sitting while using a computer or other devices, there is flexibility for movement.
- This role may involve occasional travel.
