Genoa Design International is currently recruiting for an Information Security Lead to join our Information Technology team.

 

The Information Technology team is an integral part of Genoa, providing service desk, infrastructure, and security management services, enabling other teams to achieve their goals with technology support and project coordination wherever it is needed. With a team of designers, engineers, naval architects, administrators, and technical support staff dispersed between locations, Genoa provides expertise and dedicated support throughout the shipbuilding process. Currently, Genoa is active in major government initiatives such as Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) and in commercial contracts in shipyards throughout North America.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Information Security Lead, you will be responsible for and participate in the daily operation of Genoa’s suite of enterprise security management systems. You have responsibility for establishing and enhancing the enterprise security stance of Genoa through security design, policy and process development, selecting and implementing security tools, performing and participating in various investigations, audits, risk management, incident response activities, and promoting a strong security culture in an expanding and evolving industry segment.

 

You will lead a small team of security professionals, providing leadership and coaching to create a highly engaged and functional security practice, working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • All aspects of daily security operations, monitoring, alerting and reporting.
  • Monitor for compliance with established policies, standards and contract requirements.
  • Participate in development of governance documentation, processes, and standards.
  • Access management and auditing.
  • Vulnerability management.
  • Incident response.
  • Manage the Security Awareness Program.
  • Security reviews for new and existing systems, tools, and technologies.
  • Manage physical security systems.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Interact with and support teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong enterprise security capabilities in yourself and your team.
  • Perform regular audits of all systems under management.
  • Collaborate on security matters with development, operations, and delivery teams.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED IN YOUR TOOLKIT

  • 5 years or more in a security analyst or leadership role.
  • Diploma or degree in a relevant technology related discipline.
  • Proven, hands-on experience in security operations.
  • Experience developing security related policy, processes and procedures.
  • Comfortable leading small teams, and speaking to groups.
  • Ability to inspire and leverage strengths of individuals and the team to succeed as one.
  • Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proactive and energetic approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize and deliver under pressure.
  • Knowledgeable in NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS standards.
  • CGP, ITAR and/or CMMC knowledge/experience considered an asset.
  • Microsoft, Fortinet, HPe and Aruba skills/certifications (preferred but not required).
  • Automation, scripting, and data analysis skills.
  • Passion for research and learning new skills with a broad knowledge base.
