Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) Workshop
Thinking about electrifying your fleet? Want to reduce carbon footprint of your business? Not sure where to start? This workshop is for you!
‘Transportation’ is the single largest source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Newfoundland and Labrador. In 2022 transportation was responsible for 43% of the entire province’s emissions. Much of this is attributed to on-road transportation.
On Thursday January 30, 2025 econext is hosting a workshop to provide an update on the latest initiatives and research relating to the decarbonization of transportation in Newfoundland and Labrador through the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and other zero-emissions vehicles (ZEVs) such as those that use clean fuels like hydrogen. Participants will be able to ask questions to panellists and industry professionals.
The agenda will include:
- 9:00 – Overview of ZEV Adoption in NL
- 9:10 – Research Findings: Medium to Heavy Duty EV (MHDEV) adoption in NL
- 9:40 – NL Hydro: Sharing experience of their own fleet electrification – from St. John’s to Churchill Falls
- 10:10 – Break
- 10:30 – Municipal Pilot Programs – Ongoing Light and Medium Duty EV Adoption Projects
- 11:00 – The Electrification of St. John’s Public Transit
- 11:30 – Research Findings: Potential for Clean Fuels Use in Road Transportation in NL
