The Opportunity
The Health Care Foundation is seeking a dynamic Digital Media Specialist to shape its digital voice, share powerful stories, and showcase the impact of philanthropy on health care in Newfoundland and Labrador. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, this role is central to building a strong, engaging digital presence for the Foundation. From developing compelling content to capturing live moments at events, the Digital Media Specialist will ensure patients, families, donors, and health care teams are seen and heard across digital channels.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute creativity and digital expertise to work that truly makes a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the Foundation’s social media channels with engaging, consistent, and brand-aligned content.
- Develop digital storytelling assets such as graphics, photos, and short videos that capture impact and inspire support.
- Lead on-site digital engagement at Foundation events, ensuring live coverage and meaningful community interaction.
- Monitor social platforms, responding to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner.
- Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and relevance.
- Support the development and execution of digital campaigns, including email newsletters and online advertising.
- Track, analyze, and report on performance metrics to provide insights that strengthen reach and engagement.
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement by maintaining a professional presence as the initial point of contact for the Foundation.
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, or a related field.
- Experience in digital media, marketing, or communications (internships and co-op placements considered).
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with an ability to create compelling, audience-focused content.
- Demonstrated ability to manage social media platforms (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube), with the capacity to create and adapt content for each audience.
- Basic graphic design and/or video editing skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
