Pennecon Technical Services Limited is currently seeking applications for the following position:

Inside Sales Representative
Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling the PTS’ existing product lines, developing new prospects, and interacting with assigned customers to increase sales of PTS’ products and/or services. The primary focus is on selling and supporting account management activities to meet sales revenue goals. There will be a certain degree of creativity and latitude required.  You will be expected to engage with all levels of the customers’ organizations including technical, operations, supply chain.  You may be required to develop and deliver bids, presentations, proposals and/or product demonstrations.


  • Responsible for the day-to-day interactions and sales functions between customer, suppliers, and divisional managers within Pennecon Technical Services.
  • Client service via telephone, in-person, and electronic communications
  • Support divisional managers with a focus on fulfilling quotations, orders, and correspondence
  • Develop knowledge of existing product lines held by PTS for sales to customers
  • Increase sales and customer base
  • Ensure that all documentation required by the clients upon arrival of the products are completed and submitted within an appropriate timeframe.
  • Prepare customer quotes, follow up with customers on quotes and outstanding orders
  • Process sales orders and turn quotations into orders through customer interactions
  • Expedite customer material with vendors when required
  • Maintains communication with PTS’ customer base, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Utilizes sales management tools for sales planning, supplier planning and documenting opportunities
  • Review, manage and communicate information from procurement websites
  • Provide support for tenders and/or bids as required
  • Assist with defining inventory listing for inside sales requirements based on historical customer requirements



  • Five (5) years of relevant industry experience preferred
  • Prior sales experience in Newfoundland, and/or the Atlantic provinces particularly in the marine, mining, aquaculture, oil & gas, utility, and industrial sectors
  • Ability to travel locally to current and potential clients and suppliers, if required
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Possess strong time management stills
  • Must be able to multitask and balance many different deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective communicator both written and verbally
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques (preferred)
