In March, the Government of Canada introduced the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy to provide affected businesses with the support necessary to keep workers on the payroll. This May, as part of the Government of Canada’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan, the government announced that they will be extending the program by 12 weeks.
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, Sean Fraser, is consulting with representatives from businesses across Canada to discuss potential adjustments to the program.
