DESCRIPTION:Join the Inaugural Ask an Expert session as we explore Technology Careers in NL with Paul Preston\, CEO of NATI (Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology and Innovation) and Josh Green\, Founder and CEO of Mysa!\n\n\n\nAsk an Expert is a webinar series created by Connector NL and TeamGrowNL with the St. John's Board of Trade that will allow industry experts and employers to engage with jobseekers that are interested in working in various sectors of Newfoundland and Labrador.\n\n\n\nEach one hour session will consist of:\n\n  Presentation by an industry expert \n\n  Presentation by a local employer\n\n  Question and Answer session\n\n  Trend analysis/provincial outlooks for realistic careers in the industry\n\n\n\nJosh Green\n\nFounder and CEO\, Mysa\n\nJosh is the CEO of Mysa which he founded as Empowered Homes in 2014 right after completing his mechanical engineering degree at Dalhousie University. Josh and his cofounder/brother\, Zach\, has led the team at Mysa to bring to market the Mysa Smart Thermostat for baseboard heating which has now shipped close to 100k devices across Canada and the US. \n\n\n\nPaul Preston\n\nChief Executive Officer\, Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology and Innovation (NATI) \n\nPaul Preston is CEO of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology and Innovation (NATI)\, where he and his team work to develop and grow the province?s technology and innovation sector through talent and growth programs\, advocacy\, and being a voice for the sector. This also includes driving the mandate of Bounce\, a med-tech accelerator for the province\, as well as multi-year digitalization initiatives that aim to help other sectors of the economy become tech-enabled\, increasing their competitiveness. Paul was previously the Director of Science\, Technology and Innovation at The Conference Board of Canada in Ottawa. He has travelled extensively to understand how different jurisdictions drive their innovation ecosystems\, has presented on innovation in places such as Israel\, Silicon Valley\, New York\, and Boston\, and has been called as an Expert Witness to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry\, Science and Technology. Paul also worked in commercial finance and was Director of Business Development with Plato Group/Camouflage Software in both St. John's and Ottawa.
